There are plenty of places to eat in Taveuni, most of which are family run with farm to table kitchens. Not only is this great for our visitors but also it is fantastic for supporting our local communities and families. You will find every restaurant or café on Taveuni to have a relaxed and informal vibe.

Coconut Grove

Fijian, Asian and yummy homemade pastas.

We lean towards fresh fish and seafood, organically grown vegetables from our garden and homemade pastas. We love to prepare curries and Fijian food as well, and we also serve organic grass fed aged Taveuni eye fillet and burgers!

You can enjoy your meal in the restaurant, on your private veranda or down on the beach by candlelight.

The Dive Café

Welcome to The Dive Café located on the beach in Matei.

We provide a warm inviting environment where you will feel at home. You can sit back and relax with friends and enjoy a great view, listen to some great music, drinking the best island coffee and eating the most delicious island food.

We also cater for special events (7 days a week) such as parties, birthdays, weddings and anniversaries.

Kai Time Restaurant

Kai Time Restaurant is located at Aroha Taveuni Beachfront Bures, on the shores of Somosomo Strait.

We have an extensive all day blackboard menu and a la carte evening menu available, and of course our famous wood fired pizza oven delivering great pizzas.

Paradise Oceanview Restaurant & Bar

Enjoy a large selection of Fijian delicacies, local organic produce and a selection of international delights at the Paradise Oceanview Restaurant located on site in Paradise Taveuni Resort.

Resort owner, Allan is our Internationally trained Chef and oversees the kitchen, amongst other things. Allan and our Kitchen Team enjoy using the local produce which is mostly organic, fresh and from our Paradise Farm. Please don’t hesitate to advise should you have any special dietary requirements. We cater to many and varied requests – vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, salt free, sugar free… let us know as soon as possible to ensure you enjoy every meal in Paradise.

The enticing menus change daily, however our Fijian hospitality and service remains. Burgers, Pizza, Curries, Stir Fries and our signature Tropical Fish – grilled catch of the day served on cassava chips with roasted eggplant and drizzled with fresh coconut milk.

No need to book… Paradise Taveuni Resort is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. meals range in price from $10-$35. Everyone is welcome in Paradise.

Ria's Chillout Restaurant

Ria’s Chillout Restaurant is located in Naqara and is famous for its Chinese-Fijian-Indian cuisine.

Ria uses local and traditional Fijian fresh vegetables and produce with Indian spices or Chinese sauces The result is a wonderful culinary style that is similar to Fijian traditional food with Indian and Chinese influences. The cooking techniques ensure freshly prepared, succulent and flavourful dishes at every meal.

Ria’s Chillout Restaurant can be found on the first level of the yellow building near the top of the town and they welcome locals and international tourists. Best eaten freshly prepared and hot but takeaways are also available.

Cold drinks, snacks, sweet treats and vegetarian options are available. Families welcome.

The Salty Fox Bar & Grill

The Salty Fox is the open air restaurant at Taveuni Dive Resort. It’s spacious, right next to an incredible infinity pool with a nice view of the Somosomo Strait.

We built a place that felt just right – whether you are hanging by the pool after a day of diving, or having a formal occasion like a wedding.

Tramonto Restaurant

Tramonto Restaurant is a renowned family-owned restaurant in the heart of Matei nestled on a bluff at the point which has the most stunning sunset views. Locals and visitors love its vibe for the lovely home cooked meals in an open-air setting overlooking the ocean.

The Madden family have lived in Matei since the early 1920’s owning land and having ties to the local villages. Parents Peter and Gina Madden have taught their children well so in turn every sibling has a few consecutive years of operating and running Tramonto.

The restaurant of choice for the best pizza, fish & chips and fresh local cuisine. Come and enjoy the most awesome hospitality only 5 minutes from Matei Airport.

Bored of pizza, pasta, burger? Our chefs create authentic Fijian menus with a modern twist. All meals are freshly prepared from scratch with local ingredients.

Vegetarian, vegan, lactose-and gluten-free options available. Breakfast options include homemade sourdough bread and jams, coconut buns, eggs at choice. Main courses feature fresh fish cooked in coconut milk, kovu (beef, pork, lamb) in banana leaves, curries and homemade chutneys, crabs and prawns. Viani Bay is the home of the original Fiji Sea Salt – a tasting menu is offered with every meal. We are only accessibly by private boat, 15 minutes across from Wairiki/Taveuni.
